A: A commercial invoice is required and if your shipment contains any single commodity classified under the same Harmonized Tariff System # (HTS#) with a value greater than $2,500.00 USD Electronic Export Information (EEI) is required by US Customs. In some cases a certificate of origin document is also required (primarily to Middle East destinations). For food exports an ingredients list and a Phytosanitary certificate may be required depending on destination.

Q: When I am sending international air freight what is the maximum height you can accept for most international passenger flights departing from the USA?

A: 63 inches.

Q: Which USA cities are the most economical if I am sending a vehicle to Europe via ocean service?

A: Any major East Coast port city (Charleston, Savannah, New York, New Jersey are a few).

Q: My dimensions are in centimeters. How do I convert them to inches?

A: Divide each dimension listed in CM by 2.54.

Q: How much time should I typically expect when receiving an air import for US Customs to release the shipment?

A: Shipments are generally free and clear from customs within two business days of arrival.

Q: How may I track my shipments?

A: By providing your email address to the Guardian Global Transport team you will receive an email update with a hyperlink to check the status of your shipment. The Guardian team updates this several times per day with current information.

Q: How may I view my international documents?

A: By providing your email address to the Guardian Global Transport team you will receive an email update with a hyperlink that includes links to important international documents. If are provided with a document that is generated by our customers we will image the document to be accessible from the hyperlink.

Q: How do I calculate duty?

A: You may provide the value, the HTS# and the country of manufacture for each item and we will verify the amount of expected duty.
